Solo Competition Levels & Steps

Levels

  • Beginner
  • Primary
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced
  • Men's reel intermediate (no age limits)
  • Men's reel advanced (no age limits)

There must be a minimum number of 3 competitions registered for a category for it to be held.

It is important that you register for the right level. Steps too difficult for the level at which you are competing will not be considered by the adjudicator.

Note that there is a competition for male competitors only, namely the Men's reel: light reel danced in boys' reel shoes.

Each competitor will dance 2 steps (32 bars) in every level and every dance.

Pick-up system

This year Nordic Feis will use the pick-up system in solo competitions. Pick-up system means that there are no pauses between dancers - when one dancers has finished dancing, the next one starts immediately after him/her. There will some assistance people for children under 13 years behind the stage to count them in.
