Nordic Society of Irish Dancers

My name is Hilde Magda Juul, I am 37 years old an live in Oslo, Norway. I have been doing Irish dancing since 1998 and currently teach kids and adults in Oslo. I have done 11 grade exams and still compete at the Nordic Feis, but hopefully will do my TCRG within a couple of years.

I think NSID and the Nordic Feis are very important tools to develop Irish dancing in the Nordic countries, as it gives us a forum to meet and exchange ideas, get new impulses and cooperate. I think it is important to exchange information about workshops and events being held around in the Nordic countries to bring the Irish dancing in our region to higher levels and standards. My philosophy as a dance instructor is that Irish dancing is for everybody regardless of age and ambition - it is never to late to start and for those who want to put some work and effort into it, it is always possible to reach new goals. I am therefor a big fan of grade exams and strongly encourage everyone to do them.
